Charlotte, North Carolina-based Lane Construction Corp. has won a $208 million contract for taxiway pavement repairs at Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach, Virginia, the contractor said in a July 29 news release.

The contract will entail two phases: Phase 1 to repair Taxiway Alpha and Phase II to repair Taxiway Alpha, Bravo, Papa and other work related to the air station. Work is expected to begin in the fall and complete by 2028, according to Lane Construction.

The Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Mid-Atlantic awarded the contract.

Lane Construction has completed work on the Oceana Naval Air Station before. The contractor previously repaired Runway 14L-32R and its associated electrical airfield lighting and constructed new, 4-foot-wide taxiway shoulders in areas with modified lighting systems.

It’s also the second recent win for Lane in Virginia. The contractor nabbed a $110 million contract earlier this year for the Newport News segment of the I-64 Hampton Roads Express Lanes, per the release. The express lanes aim to improve travel time for those driving on primary interstate roadways in Virginia.
