The latest Star Wars series, Skeleton Crew, is landing on Disney+ a day earlier than expected. Today, the streamer announced that the first two episodes would premiere on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. PST. Subsequent episodes will drop weekly on Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. PST, because it’s fun to be confusing.
The trailers we’ve gotten for Skeleton Crew are promising. They set up the premise of a group of kids getting lost in a galaxy far, far away who have to find their way back to their home planet. Adventures ensue, Goonies-style. The announcement of the date change also came with a new poster, which features the chiseled visage of Jude Law (pictured above), whose character appears to have an aversion to shirt buttons.
Lucasfilm has another treat in store for fans. Theaters across the U.S. are also hosting screenings of the first two episodes on December 2 at 7:00 p.m. local time. If that’s something that sounds intriguing, you can sign up for the chance to get some free tickets (and free refreshments!) here.
In addition to Law, Skeleton Crew stars Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kyriana Kratter, Robert Timothy Smith, Tunde Adebimpe, Kerry Condon, and Nick Frost. Jon Watts and Christopher Ford are head writers of the series and executive produce along with Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. The limited series also features episodes directed by Watts and Ford as well as the Daniels (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert), Jake Schreier, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Lee Isaac Chung.
The first two episodes of Skeleton Crew now apparently premiere on Disney+ (or your local theater) on December 2, 2024.
