Charli XCX continues to make our jaws drop with her head-turning style.

The British pop star, 32, attended Variety’s Hitmakers Brunch in Los Angeles on Saturday, December 7, wowing Us in a sheer gown. Charli wore a brown halter-neck frock sans lining underneath.

For glam, Charli kept it neutral with nude-colored eyeshadow and lipstick. Her nails, however, popped thanks to its painted burgundy color. Charli also wore her dark locks in loose waves.

Charli was honored as Variety’s Hitmaker of the Year, where she name-dropped the Velvet Underground’s 1967 debut album as one of her inspirations in an acceptance speech.

Mike Marsland/WireImage After releasing an album full of music she wouldn’t listen to, Charli XCX is over playing it safe. “I kinda miss the time when pop music was really volatile and crazy,” Charli, 31, told The Face in an interview published Monday, February 19. “I miss the Paris Hilton days. Everybody is so worried […]

“This record is one of the most influential and groundbreaking records of our time,” the Grammy nominee said, according to Variety. “It’s the apex of fine art and dirty culture, colliding high and low, poetry meets drugs, earnest and arrogant.”

Charli typically slays on the red carpet if you ask Us, and she makes sure to put thought into every garment.

“I think clothing is the most immediate thing people can try and analyze you from,” she told Elle U.K. in an October 2023 profile. “You wear an outfit and then people assume, ‘Oh, she must be that kind of person.’”

She added, “I like to express the way I feel through my clothes, but also, it’s not that big of a deal. I am who I am, whether I’m wearing a floor-length dress on a red carpet or some skimpy, tiny skirt.”

Charli also switches up her look based on her various albums. Most recently, she’s been in her “Brat” era, named after her June LP.

“I wanted this record to feel like I was having a conversation with the listener in a true way,” Charli told Billboard at the time. “I could say that to you in the back of a cab on the way to a club. Like, ‘Tonight? I want to dance with A. G.’”
