Run: Alien Sci-Fi Thriller Announces Cast, Including an Arrow Alum

You Got Served and Happy Anniversary director Chris Stokes is working on a new sci-fi thriller called Run, and today Deadline announced the film’s ensemble cast.

According to the trade, Annie Ilonzeh, whose previous credits include a co-starring on the series S.W.A.T. (pictured above) and playing Joanna de la Vega on The CW’s Arrow, will star along with Marques Houston (You Got Served), and Erica Mena (Love & Hip-Hop: New York).

Here’s the synopsis for the film, per Deadline:

Run follows Melissa after she leaves her fiancé Andre at the alter, and her best friends convince her to go to a cabin on a much-needed “Girls Trip” to get her mind off things. But things take a huge turn when their friend Jenny is found mutilated in the middle of the woods. When the news announces an all-out alien attack on the nation, the girls will have to try their best to survive.

Based on this description, it sounds like it’s a mashup of an alien invasion plot line with the slasher-in-the-woods trope.

In addition to Ilonzeh, Houston, and Mena, the film features actors Erica Pinkett, Drew Sidora, Ken Lawson, Claudia Jordan, and Obba Babatunde. Many of these actors, as well as Stokes, have done several projects for Tubi, and Run appears to be a play to take the success of the streamer and bring it to the big screen.

Run is currently set to premiere in theaters in May 2025. icon-paragraph-end
