Demi Lovato’s sister Madison De La Garza has announced the death of her baby.
De La Garza, 22, shared via Instagram on Saturday, October 26, that her and boyfriend Ryan Mitchell’s first child died last month following an emergency C-section.
“On the evening of September 27th, after an emergency c-section, Ryan and I held our little girl for the first and last time,” Lovato’s youngest sister wrote. “Thank you, Xiomara, for making us parents to the most perfect angel in heaven. Mommy and Daddy love you sweet girl.”
Mitchell commented on his girlfriend’s post, writing, “I love you,” to which she replied, “My everything.
Friends and family flocked to the comments section to send their love to the grieving parents, including Lovato, 32, who wrote, “I love you so much Xiomara. An angel in every sense of the word. I’ll be your auntie forever. 💔”
Lovato also shared De La Garza’s post via her Instagram Story, writing, “RIP to my beautiful, perfect niece Xiomara. I’m so grateful I got to hold you. I’ll forever be your auntie.” The musician added two broken heart emojis, saying, “I love you so much @maddelagrza.”
De La Garza and Lovato’s fellow sister, Dallas Lovato, took to the comments of their youngest sister’s post as well to share a touching message in the form of a poem.
“Baby girl Xiomara, I miss you everyday. / I’ll take good care of your mom, so you can fly away. / Watch over us and guide us and give us little signs,” Dallas wrote. “One day we’ll come and see you, it just might take some time. / Not a single day will pass without you in our hearts.
She concluded, “I wish we got more time together before you had to depart. / So have fun in your new world, the one we cannot see. / Because every breath I take, I’ll be taking one for z ♥️.” Braedon De La Garza, Cruel Summer star and Madison’s cousin, wrote, “I love you. Rest in peace baby xo 👼🏻.”
Madison announced her pregnancy last month, sharing via Instagram that she and Mitchell were expecting their first child together. “Oh Ryan, how I love you,” the Desperate Housewives alum captioned the September 5 post. “Thank you for making all of my dreams come true.”
Demi shared her sister’s post via Instagram Story at the time, writing, “Congratulations baby girl. I love you so much!!!”
Last month, the “Confident” shared in an interview with E! News how excited she was to become an aunt and welcome a new member of the family. “I’m really excited to have new life come into our family,” she told the outlet in September. “Family is very valued to me. I value family and friends over success any day.
