Gwyneth Paltrow is teasing several intimate moments with costar Timothée Chalamet in their upcoming film, Marty Supreme.
“I mean, we have a lot of sex in this movie,” Paltrow, 52, told Vanity Fair in an interview published on Tuesday, March 18. “There’s a lot — a lot.”
After the outlet asked if Paltrow was “in a lot of vulnerable positions” with Chalamet, 29, she replied, “Beyond.”
“There’s now something called an intimacy coordinator, which I did not know existed,” she said, adding that a Marty Supreme intimacy coordinator asked if she’d be comfortable with a particular move. “I was like, ‘Girl, I’m from the era where you get naked, you get in bed, the camera’s on.’”
Paltrow and Chalamet, however, did not utilize their intimacy coordinator in the film. “We said, ‘I think we’re good. You can step a little bit back,’” Paltrow recalled to the outlet. “I don’t know how it is for kids who are starting out, but … if someone is like, ‘OK, and then he’s going to put his hand here’ — she lays a milky-manicured hand on her own shoulder — ‘I would feel, as an artist, very stifled by that.’”
The outlet reported that Paltrow “shrugs at simulating all of that sex with Chalamet,” and she quipped, “I was like, ‘OK, great. I’m 109 years old. You’re 14.’”

Chalamet and Paltrow made headlines when they were spotted locking lips in New York City’s Central Park in October 2024. The pair rocked their costumes as Paltrow was pressed up against the wall of an alleyway and had her arms on Chalamet’s shoulders, while the Oscar nominee wrapped his arms around her waist.
The film, which is directed by Josh Safdie, who helmed 2019’s Uncut Gems. Marty Supreme reportedly centers around a fictionalized version of the life of real-life Ping-Pong champion Marty Reisman. Alongside Chalamet and Paltrow, the cast includes Tyler, the Creator, Fran Drescher and Sandra Bernhard.
Paltrow explained to Vanity Fair that her character in the movie is the love interest of a table tennis player.
“This woman who is married to someone who is in the Ping-Pong mafia, as it were,” she said of her character, who becomes linked to Chalamet’s Marty. “They meet and she’s had a pretty tough life, and I think he breathes life back into her, but it’s kind of transactional for them both.”
Marty Supreme will be released on December 25.
