Rachel Bilson is just like Us — even she gets starstruck by her favorite celebrities.
“I ran into Larry David, who is my all-time of everything,” Bilson, 43, exclusively shares in the latest issue of Us Weekly. “I got so nervous I started sweating and running from the opposite direction.”
Despite being a celebrity herself, The O.C. alum has never been a fan of asking her fellow stars for selfies. “Even before I was an actress, I was just sort of nervous about that,” she explains. “As a kid, I would see actors I know out [at] a restaurant and my mom was like, ‘Do you want to take a picture with them?’ And I never did.”
While Bilson doesn’t enjoy asking celebs for impromptu photographs, she does enjoy keeping her family safe with the help of SimpliSafe’s Active Guard Outdoor Protection. “I really like things that are easy to use and that I can do from my phone because I always have my phone in my hand,” she tells Us. “I was just really excited about it because I can see what’s going on even across the country. It’s really nice.”
Having been the victim of home break-ins in the past, Bilson adds: “I’m so happy about this security system.” (Bilson’s home was burglarized by the infamous “Bling Ring” in the late 2000s.)

Us: When was the last time that you did laundry?
Bilson: Yesterday. My daughter [Briar, 10] started in a new school that has uniforms, so l have to be way more on top of it. I do laundry a couple times a week now.
Us: Do you have a nickname?
Bilson: Everybody calls me “Ray-Ray.”
Us: What was the last show you streamed?
Bilson: My Lady Jane on Amazon [Prime Video]. It was really fun.
Us: When was the last time that you talked to a customer service representative?
Bilson: Not that long ago. I had to call Kipling because I ordered my daughter two backpacks for school. It was gonna cost a lot of money to return one. So we talked, and they were nice.

Us: What is your go-to meal at home?
Bilson: My daughter’s favorite, pasta fagioli. I make it once a week. What’s funny is that her friends also love it, so it makes me mildly popular.
Us: What’s your favorite Real Housewives franchise?
Bilson: It’s the craziest thing, because I love reality television: I’ve never seen an episode of Real Housewives! But I did download The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
Us: What’s your Uber rating?
Bilson: I don’t Uber. I’m a big fan of driving myself. I’m not a drinker and l don’t leave my house — so that helps me, too!
