Humans and Merpeople Don’t Get Along in The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep Trailer

Until today, all we’ve known about the upcoming animated feature The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep is that Geralt likes to throw food at Jaskier when the bard annoys him. Today, however, Netflix released a trailer for the movie, which sets up the plot—humans and merpeople are fighting, and it seems that some don’t want that fighting to stop, no matter what the cost.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Geralt of Rivia, a mutated monster hunter, is hired to investigate a series of attacks in a seaside village and finds himself drawn into a centuries-old conflict between humans and merpeople. He must count on friends—old and new—to solve the mystery before the hostilities between the two kingdoms escalate into all-out war.

We also now know when this tale takes place: Way back in season one, between the events found in episodes five and six. That’s right, this is Henry Cavill’s Geralt (although in Sirens of the Deep, Doug Cockle—who voices Geralt in the video games—provides the monster hunter’s voice).

In addition to Cockle, Sirens of the Deep features the dulcet tones of Joey Batey and Anya Chalotra, who are rendering the animated versions of their live-action characters—Jaskier and Yennefer—accordingly. We’re also introduced to Christina Wren, who voices Geralt’s love interest, Essi.

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep starts streaming on Netflix on February 11, 2025.
