Shawn Mendes knows that there’s intense curiosity about his private life — including his sexuality. Since becoming a music superstar around 2013 at age 14, rumors have swirled about his sexual orientation. Mendes — whose celebrity exes include Camila Cabello and Sabrina Carpenter — declared previously that he was not gay. He later confessed that […]

Another fan shared a clip from the music video for Khalid’s “Satellite,” describing the 2022 song as an “LGBTQ anthem.” They added, “Either way.. Hate that Khalid was forced out but he wasn’t ‘hiding’ it. He just didn’t need to TELL nobody.” The singer reposted the clip, writing, “thank you!!!! I was never hiding.”

While Khalid did not name the person who outed him, many fans speculated it to be fellow singer Hugo D Almonte. Khalid’s posts came after Almonte made several claims via X about an ex who he did not identify by name.

Almonte wrote in a since-deleted post on social media that he had dated and broken up with a “dumb ass singer,” who allegedly accused him of breaking into their house. He then posted a since-deleted selfie with Khalid, accompanied by the caption, “Bitch ass 🥷🏾 lied and said that I broke into his house cause I didn’t want him.”

Almonte defended his actions in a statement to Vulture on Saturday, November 23, saying, “[It’s] really funny how it works because my intentions was never to out someone who’s clearly been out already in the community in Los Angeles.”

He added, “My intentions was to share my story and share how he tried to use his power to silence me because I simply ended our relationship, he was afraid of what I might say.”

Almonte told the outlet that he had also begun receiving death threats. “All I’ve learned from this is never allow anyone to silence me, it’s crazy that these people said I was chasing clout, when I was holding onto this for five years, and I finally had enough,” he shared.
