Gary Wright passed away this last week after a long battle with Parkinson’s Lewy body dementia. Wright’s death was one of those that hits differently. His talent was so immense and his influence so broad, it takes a little time for it to all soak in. But once it does hit, it hits hard.
Dreamweaver was undoubtedly Wright’s greatest hit. But I’ve always preferred Love Is Alive, which was the opening song on the Dreamweaver album. For me, it’s uplifting and soothing at the same time. And for of those who prefer it, here’s a bonus of Dreamweaver, filmed at the same concert in 1975.
