Timothee Chalamet’s lookalikes want you to Call Them By His Name.

A contest held in New York City’s Washington Square Park, and attended by Us Weekly, on Sunday, October 27, attracted multiple self-professed Chalamet lookalikes —- and the real actor himself, according to photos and footage shared via social media.

The Bones and All actor, 28, found his “Clones and All” among the contestants who came from near and far to prove that they looked the most like the Oscar-nominated star, all for a grand prize of $50. Chalamet appeared to have snuck into the crowd wearing a baseball cap and black mask before eventually revealing himself and stopping to pose for photos with excited fans.

While some contestants showed up wearing regular clothes, others dressed up in costume as some of Chalamet’s movie characters, including Willy Wonka from his 2023 film Wonka, and Bob Dylan, whom Chalamet is set to play in the upcoming film A Complete Unknown.

While Chalamet’s appearance should have earned him top honors, it was Miles Mitchell, the Staten Island-based contestant who dressed up as Willy Wonka, who won the event. Mitchell, 21, told Us he would “buy a bunch of chocolate” with his winnings.

Thousands of people began gathering in Washington Square Park’s arch around 1 PM on Sunday for the unofficial event, which organizer Anthony Poe claimed to have attracted an estimated 10,000 people in total. At one point, the New York City Police Department showed up to ask the growing crowd to disperse due to the lack of a formal permit, per NBC.

Us can confirm that Poe, a YouTuber, was fined $500 by the police before he moved the crowd several blocks towards Mercer Playground, where the contest took place.

Poe told Us at the event,”This man, my bodyguard here, Roberto, he took the fine. So I’m going to be paying him.” Poe also told a group of reporters, “I honestly thought I was going to get arrested, so we had a bunch of plans for that. $500 fine was the best case scenario. I could not be any happier with the $500, I mean the whole event cost me way more than $500.”

A spokesperson for the NYPD told NBC New York that there was at least one person who was detained and issued summonses.

Chalamet was recently seen in NYC prior to the event while filming in Central Park for his new film Marty Supreme, where he was spotted kissing co-star Gwyneth Paltrow, 52, for a scene.

Marty Supreme, which is directed by Josh Safdie, sees Chalamet as the producer as well as the star of the film. It also sees Paltrow in her first on screen role since Avengers: Endgame in 2019.

Paltrow revealed what her husband Brad Falchuk thought of the kiss during a Q&A via her Instagram Story on Tuesday, October 22.

One user asked, “How does Brad feel about you kissing Mr. Chalamet?! Lol.”

Paltrow responded that her director husband was “Unthreatened, not because T. Chal isn’t AWESOME, but he knows he’s got my whole [heart emoji].”
