Amy Adams happily grew out her own chin hair for her role in Nightbitch.
Adams, 50, opened up about letting her facial hair grow for her role as Mother in the upcoming film. “The hair on the face — that was mine,” she told Variety in a profile published on Tuesday, October 22. “I saw it as a wonderful expression of the human experience without any artifice or filters. Or tweezers!” the actress added.
Adams explained that she has “that kind of hair that just grows overnight.”
“One day it’s not there, and the next day it’s like I’m a catfish,” she said, referencing the sea creature that grows whiskers. “That might turn some people away,” Adams admitted.
Elsewhere in the interview, Adams got candid about her character’s physical appearance, sharing that people told her she looked “awful” while playing the struggling stay-at-home mom who occasionally transforms into a dog. “I was like, ‘You do realize that’s what I look like in my life, right?’”
In the film, Adams dons a fresh face while crawling on all fours to mimic a dog. Nightbitch premieres in theaters on December 6.
Although she may not have looked glamorous while filming, Adams did not disappoint while stepping out in a pastel pink Prabal Gurung gown at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures Gala earlier this month. Her classy look featured a strapless neckline and a corset bodice that cascaded into a solemn skirt. The design featured just the right amount of drama with a rose detail at her hip.
Adams’ completed her bombshell look with a full beat including filled-in eyebrows, soft eyeshadow, blushed cheeks, glossy lips and wispy eyelashes. Her crimson hair was parted down the middle and styled in big bouncy curls.
Adams accessorized with a diamond bracelet, a chunky gold ring and statement earrings — so red carpet ready.
